Objectives of the Society for Business Administration

The Society for Business Administration (GfB) is an association of former and active students,
professors of the Faculty of Business Administration and Economics as well as other natural and
legal persons associated with the faculty.

Our aim is to maintain contact with Coburg University of Applied Sciences even after graduation.
One of our aims is to support the Faculty of Business and Economics with financial resources.
For example, we aim to purchase new books for the library or provide financial support for students to take part in international events. We want to promote the integration of foreign guest students in everyday university life and maintain contact with the Faculty of Business Administration’s partner universities.

Once a year, we award the “GfB Recognition Prize” as part of the graduation ceremony. It recognizes graduates of the Faculty of Business Administration and Economics who, in addition to good
academic achievements, have also shown commitment outside the university and represented their degree programme to the outside world.

Our aim is also to intensify the connection between science and business practice as well as the
exchange of business experience. Two to three times a year, we organize lectures with personalities from the world of business administration. Furthermore – and this is a particularly attractive offer for active students – we can arrange internships and topics for Bachelor theses. Socializing is not neglected either. We meet at regular intervals for “regulars’ tables” in cozy Coburg pubs.

Foundation

In 1995, a small group of newly graduated business economists and professors came together.
They did not want to lose contact with Coburg University of Applied Sciences after graduation and therefore founded the Society for Business Administration on January 24, 1996.

Joining the Society for Business Administration

Anyone who is studying or has studied business administration at Coburg University of Applied Sciences can join. Visiting students and guest lecturers can also join. Of course, we also give
interested companies the opportunity to join our association.
