Staff unit for occupational safety
Freedom from instructions and responsibility
The Occupational Safety Unit reports directly to the university management and is headed by a safety engineer.
It is not subject to directives in the execution of its tasks and is only responsible to the university management.
Tasks
- Advising the university management and the persons responsible for occupational health and safety and accident prevention, in particular in the planning, execution and maintenance of operating facilities and social facilities, the procurement of technical equipment and the introduction of working procedures and materials, the design of workplaces, work processes and the working environment
- Safety inspection of operating facilities and technical equipment as well as work processes
- Monitoring occupational health and safety and accident prevention, i.e. inspecting workplaces at regular intervals.
Forwarding any deficiencies identified to the employer and other persons responsible for occupational health and safety / accident prevention - Maintaining the relevant accident prevention regulations and passing them on to the persons working or responsible for occupational safety as required
- Safety inspection of operating facilities and technical work equipment, particularly before commissioning, and of work procedures, particularly before their introduction.
- report to the university management on an ongoing basis with regard to the implementation of occupational health and safety in its area of responsibility.
Crisis management at Coburg University of Applied Sciences
Coburg University of Applied Sciences has a team of around 35 university members who are able to evacuate individual or all university buildings in the event of danger.
The evacuation team works together with external partners from the police, fire department and rescue services.
