Research initiation and knowledge transfer
In short: TraFo
The team provides support in all phases of the research project
The Research Initiation and Knowledge Transfer (TraFo) team supports researchers from idea to implementation.
This starts with the initiation of research projects through to the submission of applications in order to secure funding for projects.
Once a research project has been successfully completed, the TraFo team also advises on the exploitation of results.
What is the difference between the "TraFo" and the Research Transfer Center (FTC)?
The “Research Initiation & Knowledge Transfer Team (TraFo)” provides support in the initiation of both publicly funded and commercial research projects, particularly in the research focus areas “Sensors & Analytics” and “Analyzing & Promoting Health”.
We accompany you as a researcher from the conception of the proposal to its submission.
The FTC is the first and trusted point of contact for all questions relating to research and third-party funding and is a representative on internal and external university committees.
The FTC is also responsible for the final approval of a third-party funding application and compliance with the administrative framework as well as project controlling.
Who can contact the TraFo?
Professors at Coburg University of Applied Sciences can contact us with specific research ideas that are related to the research focus areas “Sensors & Analytics” and “Analyzing & Promoting Health”.
The projects should preferably be designed as collaborative projects (with other HAWs, universities, companies, social and societal partners) and address socially and university-strategically relevant topics with transfer potential.
What tasks does TraFo take on when acquiring third-party funding?
- Review of current research trends/political and social developments
- Sounding out the third-party funding landscape for the suitability of calls for proposals for the research priorities
- Coordination of applications both internally and with external partners from practice and research (companies, other research institutions, social and societal actors)
- Supporting the application process and ensuring that deadlines are met
- Interface to the FTC and other internal departments
