Course content
1st to 4th semester
The theoretical foundations of the course are laid from the first to the fourth semester. Right at the beginning of the course, students work on practical projects in which they can immediately put what they have learned into practice.
5th semester
The fifth semester is a systematically supervised internship semester.
6th and7th semester
In the sixth and seventh semesters, students deepen their knowledge. It is possible to choose two specializations from the following subject areas:
- Work and health
- Tourism, leisure and health
- Curation, rehabilitation and health
The Bachelor’s thesis is the final part of the course. The course integrates the latest findings and established elements of health promotion. These include, for example
- (Social) determinants of health
- Building blocks of health promotion: nutrition, exercise, relaxation
- Quality management in health promotion
You will receive intensive, scientifically sound training. The knowledge taught covers the areas of health sciences and epidemiology, occupational medicine and occupational health management, wellness, tourism and leisure, law, research and business administration as well as English. The range of subjects is supplemented by topics such as moderation and counseling.
Practice during studies
Projects
You will be involved in practical projects right from the start. Concrete projects with regional and national partners as well as partners from companies and social institutions will challenge you to present your work results confidently and create contacts to practice.
Practical semester
The practical semester usually takes place in the fifth semester of study. It comprises a continuous period of 26 weeks. You will also attend practical courses.
Job & Career
Health-conscious living and working are becoming increasingly important. Your potential career fields in integrative health promotion include workplace health promotion, health tourism, healthcare and community health promotion.
After completing your studies, you will be familiar with the most important health promotion strategies and will be able to create and establish health promotion programs with different population or target groups. You will also be able to view these in the context of the target group’s living environments.
