Something for everyone

Whether you are interested in politics, have a talent for singing, are socially committed or are a handyman and tinkerer – there is definitely room for you in one of our student initiatives.
Student initiatives are recognized and financially supported by the student council.

Arbeiterkind.de

The Coburg chapter of ArbeiterKind.de supports young adults from non-academic families on their way to and through university.
All those who take part in ArbeiterKind.de are or were the first in their family to go to university.
They come from different disciplines and pass on their experiences.
They provide advice on all aspects of starting a career and doing a doctorate.
The nationwide initiative ArbeiterKind.de was founded in 2008.
The aim is to encourage interested teenagers and young adults from non-academic families to take up university studies and to support them on their way through their studies.
More than 5000 mentors in over 70 locations are now involved on a voluntary basis.
The idea is supported by the Federal Ministry of Education and Research and the Vodafone Foundation Germany, among others. Official regulars’ table: Every first Thursday of the month from 6 to 7 p.m. in the Sonderbar, Unterer Bürglaß 10. CAT-Racing

A motorsport team at Coburg University of Applied Sciences?
Yes, you read that right!
We at CAT-Racing have been independently developing and manufacturing a racing car every year since 2007!
And it gets even better!
– YOU can be a part of it too!
From these beginnings, a solidly structured Formula Student team has developed over time. Today, it consists of students from all disciplines who contribute to the further development of the team in their individual assemblies on a daily basis.
It is not just about the knowledge and skills of the students, but also about the fun and team spirit behind this project.
In addition to the competitive aspects, the affinity for racing and the learning effect are also at the forefront.
CAT-Racing offers team members the opportunity to continuously develop their skills in various specialist areas.
It is very important to us to gain experience that the course itself can hardly provide.
Starting with the creation, design and simulation of CAD models, through the further development of engines to project management, business and marketing planning.
The whole thing is crowned by the independent assembly of the racing car, the subsequent test phases and participation in various international racing events.
Each team member finds his or her place and has the opportunity to learn everything and thus contribute to the success.

In order to realize our dream again this year, the team is always happy to welcome new interested students.
However, we are not only looking for designers or technicians, but also people for marketing, sponsoring and other areas, such as setting up and maintaining our website or creating and designing image and video material.
It doesn’t matter what course of study you are on or what you can already do.
With us, everyone can realize themselves in every area of CAT-Racing, regardless of whether you are building on previous experience or learning new skills.
Are you curious?
Would you like to join our team and experience the unique team spirit for yourself?
Then simply get in touch with us at info@cat-racing.de or speak to us in the corridor!
You can also drop by directly!
You can find us in the CAT-Racing office and workshop in the mechanical engineering hall (building 3) on the Friedrich Streib campus.
You can find more information at www.cat-racing.de or on our other social media channels.

Improv theater "The grapefruits"

Improvisational theater for all improvisers at this university, or those who want to become one.
Improvisational theater – also affectionately known as “improv theater” – is a form of theater in which scenes are performed impromptu.
As a rule, the suggestions come from the audience, which the actors use to develop the scene.
The weekly theater group teaches the basics of dramatic acting.
The exercises offered for this serve to promote physical expression, presence, spontaneity, imagination, perception and speaking, among other things.
An important aspect of improvisational theater is the functioning of the individual players as a team.
All interested parties are welcome, no special prerequisites are required apart from a little courage. Contact: Michaela Musenja, michaela.musenja@hs-coburg.de Wednesday: 6:00 pm to 7:30 pm Start of the winter semester is October 8, 2024

We design

“Wir gestalten” – a student working group of the design courses Architecture, Interior Architecture and Integrated Product Design at Coburg University of Applied Sciences.
The basis is a central workspace in Coburg city center, which is available to the members primarily as a communication point but also as a temporary or permanent workplace for their interdisciplinary collaboration.
The aim is to promote the exchange between students in the individual degree programs of the Faculty of Design: through the joint development of university projects or participation in public competitions.
Exhibitions and presentations are intended to establish contact with the general public.
They regularly provide an insight into the creative work and contribute to the cultural revitalization of Coburg city centre. Further information: http://www.wir-gestalten.com/
