6 steps to a study place

It's quite simple

Your checklist

We have put together a checklist to help you register and start your studies as easily as possible.
Please read through the additional information. We are delighted that you would like to study at Coburg University of Applied Sciences.

Step 1: Online registration and login

You can do everything conveniently via our online portal.
Simply register and apply for your desired degree course within the deadline.
This is also possible for several degree courses with just a few clicks.
The online portal is open for the start of the winter semester from 02.05.
and for the start of the summer semester from 15.11.

You can find out exactly when the deadline for your desired degree program ends on the respective degree program page.
In addition to some personal data, we also need your certificate and a short CV as an upload.
If we need further documents based on your details, you can see this clearly in your personal upload area.
Here you will also find all submission deadlines (e.g. for current certificates).
The most important thing is to submit your application online by the deadline!
If something is still missing, we will even remind you.

Step 2: Checking the documents

You will receive confirmation by e-mail immediately after submitting your application.
You will soon be able to see the processing status of your documents in the online portal (“Application progress”).
We will also inform you about new activities by email.
The university will now check whether you meet all the admission requirements for the desired degree program:

  • for Bachelor’s degree programs: a certificate valid for Bavaria (general higher education entrance qualification, subject-restricted higher education entrance qualification or entrance qualification for universities of applied sciences)
  • for Master’s degree programs: first university degree (Bachelor’s, Diplom, Magister) and, if applicable, subject fit as well as certain grade limits(more information on the respective course pages)

Only in the case of design courses is it necessary to pass an aptitude test.
Otherwise, if you meet all the formal requirements, you will be offered a place!
We will provide you with the online letter of admission promptly via the online portal (“Application progress”).

Steps 3 and 4: Acceptance of the study place and enrollment

If you have received one (or more) letters of admission from us, it is now up to you: do you want to accept our offer?
With one click in the online portal, you can apply for enrolment and start the final steps towards enrolment.
The admission letter or the online portal will tell you what still needs to be done.
For example, you must upload the following documents by the specified deadline:

  • Passport photo for student ID card
  • Copy of identity card or passport
  • Any other documents requested in the online portal

You can pay the semester fee and any tuition fees (for degree programs with fees) conveniently via our e-payment system in the online portal in the “Application for enrolment” section.
Please note: Enrolment is only possible with proof of health insurance.
Therefore, please inform your health insurance company about your enrollment at Coburg University of Applied Sciences.
Your health insurance company will forward your insurance status to us.

As soon as everything is done, we will enrol you.

Step 5: Activation of the online services

Email address, access to certificates and scripts, free software and cloud storage?
In order to access all online services, you need to activate your ID.
Preferably before the official start of your studies.
You can find out how to do this and what you will then have access to here.

Step 6: Student at last

We will send you your student ID card in credit card format by post directly to your home (to the address provided in the online portal).
The ID card is a multifunctional card, e.g. for the cafeteria, printing and library, and is also your semester ticket.
It is valid from October 1 or March 15 at the start of the semester and must be updated on site at the ID card printer at the beginning of each semester. Congratulations – now you’ve made it!
