Apply for dual study opportunities
Apply to study with a practice partner
If you would like to study with a practice partner, you must apply for a work or training place with a practice partner as well as for a place at Coburg University of Applied Sciences.
Study with in-depth practice
Ideally, you should have already signed the contract with your employer for a degree program with in-depth practical experience before you apply to the university and upload it directly with your application.
Subsequent submission is also possible in consultation with our Student Affairs department.
The application to the university works in exactly the same way as for a regular degree course.
In the online application portal, simply check the box “Study with in-depth practical experience” instead of “Full-time study”.
In design degree courses, you must pass the aptitude test before starting your studies.
You can still apply to employers during the first semesters of study and switch from regular full-time study to study with in-depth practical experience.
Cooperative study program
First of all, you must apply directly to an employer who offers an apprenticeship as part of a cooperative study program. The application deadlines are just as early as for a “normal” apprenticeship. Next, you apply to the university in the year in which you start your apprenticeship. In the application portal, you tick the box “Verbundstudium” and save your letter of admission for the following year.* In the following year, you “activate” your study place by applying again as a “Vorwegzulasser” and uploading the letter of admission from the previous year. It is also possible to apply for the joint degree program in the year you start your studies. However, only then can the requirements for enrollment be checked. *In design degree programs, it is necessary to pass the aptitude test before starting the degree program. It is therefore recommended that you take the exam before starting your studies. You can find more information about studying with a practice partner
