Change of university and degree program in higher semesters

If you have creditable achievements from your previous studies (change of degree program or change of university), you can apply for a higher semester within the general application deadlines.

  • To do this, select “Higher semester” in the online application portal and enter your previous studies under “Previous studies” and in your CV.
  • In addition to the usual documents, you must also upload the following documents:
    • Proof of performance in the form of an official grade sheet from the preliminary studies
    • an overview of content, ECTS and semester hours per week (e.g. study and examination regulations or module handbook)
    • an informal “Application for recognition of credits from previous studies”

The examination board decides on the semester classification on the basis of the application and the performance records submitted.
Binding letters of admission can only be issued once this evaluation is available.
Therefore, please upload any outstanding transcripts immediately.
If you are applying for a degree programme with an aptitude test, it must be clarified to what extent the aptitude test passed at another university can be recognized.
