A successful start to your studies

A successful course of study begins with a good start, and that’s exactly what the first semester days are for: here you get to know your fellow students and are assigned to a mentoring group.
You will get your bearings at the university and receive important information for the start of your studies.
In the group, you will also work on a small project task related to your studies.
Together (and having fun) is the best way to get started – that’s for sure!

The first semester days are aimed at the following degree programs

  • Applied Digital Transformation
  • Automation technology and robotics
  • Automotive technology
  • Business administration
  • Bioanalytics
  • Electrical engineering and information technology
  • Energy technology and renewable energies
  • Industrial economy
  • Computer science
  • Integrative health promotion
  • Mechanical engineering
  • Technical physics
  • Insurance industry
  • Visual Computing
  • Future technologies

Your degree program is not listed?
You can find information about the start of your degree program under Start your studies.

This is about

  • Getting to know fellow students and dividing up the mentoring groups
  • Orientation at the university: What can I find where?
  • Outlook on the study program with processing of a project
  • and of course: fun!

The Freshers’ Days are organized by students from higher semesters, who are on hand with their “insider knowledge” and provide important tips for the start of your studies.
This gives you the opportunity to get important information right from the start and get to know the right people.
An opportunity you should definitely take advantage of!

Mentoring groups

During the first semester days, you will also be divided into mentoring groups.
In your mentoring group, you will be supervised by students from higher semesters.
If you are unable to attend the first semester days, we will assign you to a group.
Depending on your degree program, this group will accompany you into the second semester.
For example, you will receive help with starting your studies.
