Tuition fees for students from non-EU countries

From summer semester 2025, Coburg University of Applied Sciences will charge fees for international students from third countries who enrol on a new degree program.

On this page you can find out to whom these fees apply and how much they will be charged.

The most important facts in brief

  • Studying at University Coburg is free of charge
    • for students from Germany, the European Economic Area (EEA, includes the member states of the EU + Iceland, Liechtenstein and Norway) or equivalent countries as well as from countries with which corresponding agreements exist.
    • for students who have obtained their university entrance qualification (e.g. Abitur) or an undergraduate degree (e.g. Bachelor’s degree) in the German education system.
    • for students who are already enrolled at Coburg university before summer semester 2025 and are continuing this degree program.
    • for persons who are enrolled at Coburg university as part of their participation in the Studienkolleg.

Please note: Participation in the Studienkolleg does not exempt you from paying fees for a subsequent Bachelor’s degree program.

  • From the summer semester 2025, Coburg University of Applied Sciences will charge fees for international students from third countries on the basis of the “Bayerisches Hochschulinnovationsgesetzes (BayHIG)“
    • The amount of the fees depends on the degree program. The fee amount is published on the respective degree program page.

For an exemption in the winter semester, applications must be submitted:

  • for enrollment for the winter semester by August 15
  • for re-registration for the winter semester by May 15

For an exemption in the summer semester, applications must be submitted:

  • for enrollment for the summer semester by February 1
  • for re-registration for the summer semester by December 1
